Data Protection Policy


General Data Protection Regulation

  1. The Aisle O’VAr Academy of Arms collects your personal data for the purposes of keeping records of the membership and student progress as required by the National Governing Body (NGB) and our insurers.

  2. Members’ details will be kept as securely as possible given the limited resources of a volunteer-led organisation.

  3. Members’ details must be shared with the NGB for insurance and legal reasons.

  4. Members’ details may also be shared between Club officers for the purposes of administering the Club and for members’ own welfare.

  5. All data is treated as highly confidential.

  6. No members’ bank details are held.

  7. No data will be sold to parties outside club or its NGB nor will it be used for unsolicited sales promotions.

  8. Members agree for the Club use their names and images on Social Media for the purposes of newsfeeds and communications and certain other publicity as required.

  9. Members under the legal age of consent will not be represented online unless separate written permission has been obtained from a parent or guardian.

Third party apps

Please note that the Aisle O’Var Academy of Arms has no control over third party communication apps such as social media and cannot be held liable for any breach of data protection by such third parties howsoever caused.

Right to removal

Members have the right to request removal from the AoAA database at any time; please note that in doing so, it will not be possible to maintain your insurance or contact you and therefore you will not be able to take part in any club activities and your membership will cease.
